New Facility Update

From the Executive Director

We know that all of you are excited to hear about the progress of our facility search, and we are so glad for the support during this transition!

Since closing the College Avenue house in January, staff have efficiently worked from home, and with the exception of standard gallery exhibitions, all programs have continued without issues. Now, in addition to working to secure a new space, we are actively planning summer camps, 2024-2025 Artists in Schools, the Annual Sculpture Celebration, an enrollment drive for Foothills Veterans in Art, and more.

This period has been quite a journey for our Board of Directors and staff, but we are determined to find the right fit that will serve Caldwell County for the next twenty-five to fifty years. We have toured every building on the market in downtown Lenoir, as well as several that were not. With the guidance of our Board, final decisions are being made, and the announcement of a new location is expected in the coming weeks. As part of the process, our business model is being restructured to meet today’s needs, and we cannot wait to share the new vision of the Arts Council with all of you!

Once the new location is announced, a significant amount of work must be done to fit the space to align with our new direction. Our goal is to open to the public this summer, and in the meantime, we appreciate your patience and dedication to the arts in Caldwell County.

Lastly, I want to personally thank our staff and Board of Directors for their unwavering dedication that is, and will continue to be, the Caldwell Arts Council’s guiding force for a more solid future.

Gratefully,
Ellen Ball
Executive Director
