LIABILITY:

By registering for this event, you agree that you shall make any and all efforts to secure the work to ensure the safety of visitors, other artists, and other works of art against damage or injury.

 

PRESENTED BY:
Caldwell Arts Council, Tri-State Sculptors Association, the City of Lenoir, and the Lenoir Tourism Development Association. This year's Chairperson is Sandra Jourdain; Dinner Chairperson is Allison Butler.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING (free):

  • Sculptors Welcome Dinner Friday evening (free for registered sculptors; $20/each for additional guests paid in advance, $25 onsite) - includes both meat and vegetable entrees, salad with choice of dressings, veggie and fruit trays, several desserts, tea, lemonade & water (due to new City of Lenoir ruling in late 2016, no alcoholic beverages may be served in the park, but we will have beer and wine in the Broyhill Family Foundation lot to the left before entering the walking park.)
  • List of Participating Sculptors
  • Manpower assistance with unloading/loading sculptures
  • Crane assistance with unloading/loading sculptures (must be pre-registered for this)
  • Outdoor camping with showers & full bathroom facilities at Lenoir Aquatic & Fitness Center
  • Limited private home housing may be available.
  • Continental breakfast for sculptors at the park on Saturday morning
  • Lots of friendly volunteer help

 

REGISTRATION FEES (Register early for best savings-Registration by cc/debit/Paypal below):

  • Youth/School Registration through September 6 is $35
  • University Sculpture Student and local schools Registration through September 6 is $35
  • Early Registration through July 1, $50
  • Early Registration July 2-31, $60
  • Early Registration August 1-September 6, $70
  • On-site Registration September 7-8 is $80

Welcome Dinner - Free to registered sculptors; guests are $20 in advance, $25 onsite

Registration fees are non-refundable, but we can credit your payment as a donation for tax purposes OR TOWARD NEXT YEAR'S REGISTRATION if you are unable to attend.

SIGNAGE

PRE-PRINTED SIGNAGE - Email (or click here to use our Google form) your titles, medium and selling price along with your website if you have one to info@caldwellarts.com prior to September 1st for computer-printed signage in advance. Last-minute registrations will receive hand-printed signage.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Friday, September 7:

10a-7p -      Park opens for pre-registered sculptors, on-site registration, site selection & setup; crane available for unloading large sculptures (this needs to be pre-arranged so please use early registration). We will NOT begin check-in until 10:00 a.m.

7pm -           Sculptors Welcome Dinner* 

8pm -           Introductions, Judge's presentation

Saturday, September 8:

7-8:45am -  Park opens for on-site registration, site selection & set-up. Only small trucks allowed in park & must be removed by 8:45am; Continental breakfast available free for sculptors

9a -             Exhibition opens; judging begins for awards

10a-3p -      Live Music in the park; food vendors and children's art activities

3:15 -          All sculptors come to the awards presentation area (main deck)

3:30 -          Awards presentation, followed by Judge's walking tour/talk about winning sculptures

4pm -          Exhibition closes; begin to remove sculptures from the park; crane available for loading (must be pre-registered for this assistance)

 

 

CRANE ASSISTANCE:
Provided free for pre-registered sculptors who pre-request it - Available Friday only for offloading and Saturday afternoon for loading up
.

Only small trucks allowed in the park 7-8:30a.m. Saturday for unloading.

  • Wiese Dorm on historic Patterson School campus in Happy Valley.  Ten miles north of downtown Lenoir on Highway 268, off Hwy 321.  Bring your own sheets/blankets and bath linens, and enjoy our hot showers! No pets. No smoking. $50/room with two twin beds - some dorms on ground floor and some on second floor. There is also one first-floor apartment with two twin beds, private bathroom, kitchenette and roomy living room for $100 / night. *SCULPTORS WELCOME DINNER:
Friday, September 7th at 7pm at the Broyhill Walking Park 

Sculptors, Judge, sponsors and guests gather for a casual buffet dinner and live music, followed by the Judge's presentation. Talk about your work, meet our sponsors, and make friends in this party-like atmosphere. This event is included free with your registration; additional guests meals are $20/person in advance or $25/person on site. Dinner includes meat and vegetarian options, fruits & vegetables, salad, bread, sweet/unsweet tea, beer & wine (if allowed at location) and a variety of desserts.  


In case of rain, the Sculptors Welcome Dinner may be moved to the nearby Mulberry Recreation Center (720 Mulberry St SW, Lenoir), but the Sculpture Celebration on Saturday goes on rain or shine in the TH Broyhill Walking Park.
