On display now through the month of September at Caldwell Memorial Hospital’s Art in Healing Gallery are paintings by Foothills Painters. Foothills Painters is an artist critique group comprised of members from the Unifour Area.

“Foothills Painters includes men and women of all ages and diverse professional backgrounds who make art because we are in love with colors, textures and shapes. We paint with oils, acrylics and watercolor. We sculpt, throw clay, collage, sketch, print, sew and paint on anything. We play with these elements as if they were magic stones, toys, and treasures. We make art in the hopes of discovering something remarkable about ordinary life and ourselves. It is an act of faith, and if the painter and the viewer discover the same thing they will discover that they are more the same than they are different. That act of faith has resulted in an act of magic. Abracadabra, enjoy!”

Members of Foothills Painters are Andy Atkin, Don Baldwin, Tami Booher, Dianne Bland, Betty Brendle, Dominick D’Ostilio, Pat Flachbart, Anne Fredley, Susan Grant, Nina Hardison, Martha Mauney, Katie Wood McCloy, Janey Miller, Paulette Moss, Charlie Trado, Colleen Wallner and Carl Zwingli.

The Art in Healing Gallery is located within Caldwell Memorial Hospital at 321 Mulberry Street SW in Lenoir. Patrons may enter the hospital gallery from the Mulberry Street entrance between the hours of 8am-7pm. The exhibit is FREE to the public. For more information, please contact the Caldwell Arts Council at 828 754 2486.
