August 2008 Exhibit:
"Hot Summer, Cool Art" by the Brush & Palette Club

The Caldwell Arts Council is excited to announce the August Exhibition by the Brush and Palette Club.  The opening reception will be held on August 8 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm and is free and open to the public.  The Exhibition will run from August 8-29 at the Caldwell Arts council at 601 College Avenue in Lenoir NC.  Gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday 9am to 5pm.

The Brush and Palette Art Club was founded over 35 years ago by some of Caldwell County’s most loved artists: Evelyn Allen, Nina Robinson, Mary May, Jo Jonas and Carolyn Turner to name a few.  The original group was both an artist group and social group, but as the group evolved it came to focus on the established artist.  While always keeping the valuable social aspect, the group served and still serves as valuable mentors for each other.

All members of the Brush and Palette Art Club are active artists and the group meetings focus on art education and critique.  Current members of the club are: Sarah Akins, Caron Baker Wike, Peggy Bissette, Edith Carter, Mary Dobbin, Kathryn Feierabend, Theresa Gloster, Sylvia Greene, Lois Haas, Rebecca Hall, Vaun Healey, Sarah Hedrick, Lynn Hennessee, Toni Indicott, Marti Kardol, Shirley Lee, Jan Martin, Margaret Martine, Bette McGimsey, Judy McNeill, Jo Moore, Jan Pennell, Barbara Penning, Susan K. Powers, Judy Prevost, Irene Ridgway, Virginia Sauer, Pam Smith, Melba Stapleton, Shirley Story, Norma S. Suddreth, Cathy Taylor, and Dotts Vanderbloemen.

Please come to the Caldwell Arts Council to enjoy this wonderful exhibition of some of Caldwell County’s most beloved artists!  You are sure to enjoy the show!
