FREE CONCERT IN GRANITE FALLS
SPONSORED BY CALDWELL ARTS COUNCIL

Ceol Leinn Free Concert!

The Caldwell Arts Council and the Town of Granite Falls are pleased to announce a free concert on the Square in downtown Granite Falls. The concert will be held July 25th from 7:30 to 9 PM. This year’s concert features Ceol Leinn, a Celtic band. The members are: Dick Hastings playing the Great Highland Bagpipes; Chip Mayes playing the Great Highland Bagpipes, Acoustic Guitar and Bass; Laurie Fisher playing Violin, Bass, Mandolin, and Keys; Dustin Greene playing Acoustic/Electric Guitar and Percussion; Jeff Haas playing Percussion, Hand Drums, and Marching Snare.
With the strong Scots-Irish heritage of the foothills area, there are many of us whose roots hearken back to this musical genre. The music played by Coel Leinn is both traditional and what some call "World Music." The music, as well as the history that is so much a part of our collective ancestry, is both romantic and stirring. The roots of Blue Grass and American Gospel are explored along with the music coming from the conflicts and trials of the Scottish Highlanders. Many tunes will be familiar.

Bring your family and friends for a delightful evening of music. Chairs will be available or you can bring your own.

This concert is free of charge and is sponsored by the Caldwell Arts Council. In the case of rain, the concert will be postponed to Friday August 1st. For more information contact the Caldwell Arts Council 828-754-2486
