JULY

24 - Fabulous Family Films on the square in downtown Lenoir at dark:  "The Spy Next Door"

 

Through July 31 - Joe LaFone, well-known Hickory artist and colorist, and Stephen Brooks, classically-trained painter, meld two major talents to present DIVAS at their best. Divas seize our attention and arouse our curiosity, drawing us into their realms. Attending the exhibition of DIVAS at Studio 258 will be Carmen Miranda, Queen Elizabeth I, Medusa, Joan of Arc, Frida Kahlo, Susanna of the Apocrypha, the Queen of Sheba and Mary Magdalene.   Opening - Friday, June 11 - 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m; refreshments will be provided.  Works will remain on display through July 30, 2010 at  Studio 258 Tattoo & Gallery, 258 1^st Avenue NW, Hickory - (828) 304-1192 - www.studio258.net

mid-December drawing - Caldwell Senior Center is Raffling this blue "Twisted Bargello" quilt, made by Georgianna Bland, by raffle ticket sale. $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets. Raffle tickets on sale all year, with drawing in mid-December.
