Our Artists-in-Schools Performances bring theatrical performances with curriculum connections to the JE Broyhill Civic Center for grades K-8, and into the area high schools for grades 9-12.  These performances enhance learning of Math, English/Language Arts, History, Storytelling, Behavior, and making healthy choices.

All shows are $3.25 per student; most shows are scheduled for two performances: 9:30am and 12:30pm, but this may change depending on final registration numbers.

Following are our policies for this program:

This is a program of the Caldwell Arts Council (not the Civic Center), so registrations for these shows need to come only through the Caldwell Arts Council - 828-754-2486 or  Just call, and we'll verify if we have seats remaining, and we'll do our best to work you in.

For home & private school attendees - we prefer you pay for your seats ($3.25/student, free for adult/teacher) in advance; drop your check in the mail to us at PO Box 1613, Lenoir 28645, or pay by credit/debit over the phone by calling 754-2486.  If it's last minute, I may ask you to put your payment (check or cash) in an envelope labeled "Caldwell Arts Council" and hand it to one of our volunteers who will be holding the theatre doors, who will get it to me. We cannot make change at the event.

Home school seating in the theatre varies by show - depending on public school seating arrangements. Be patient ... you will not always be near an exit - so arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the show, take time for children to use the restroom, and then ask for the home school seating area.  If the show has already started, you may not be allowed to enter the theatre, and your payment will not be refunded.

I hope this helps get the right information in the right hands - and again please encourage everyone to let me have their email addresses so we can promptly let everyone know all the student offerings we have from the Caldwell Arts Council. - Cathy McCoy, Admin. Assistant - or 828-754-2486.
