Every Monday - 12pm-3pm & 5:30pm-8:30pm - Adult Pottery Classes.  Classes are $40 per month plus the cost of clay at $15 per 25-pound bag.  Classes are held at the Old Lenoir High School, which is located in the basement of the Old Lenoir High School gymnasium.  To geet to the studio, enter through the gate at the soccer field and follow the signs.  For information, contact Caron Baker Wike at 828-758-5520.

August 2 - September 27 (Mondays 10-12:30) - "Putting Yourself in the Picture," an 8-week class in drawing and watercolor painting for adults, begins Monday, August 2 at the Caldwell Arts Council. The class will meet from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 each Monday through Sept. 27 and fees are $15 per session.

Instructor Anne Welch has 17 years' experience in teaching all skill levels and welcomes beginners as well as more experienced painters. The first one or two sessions will stress composition, design and how to choose and present a subject that reflects the painter's goals. The remainder of the classes will focus on specific painting techniques, color choices and variety of materials, all designed to help the painter develop an individual style.
